The doctor just left the room

It's official, alt.fifty-plus.friends is dead.

The old, tired newsgroup had been in a coma for over three weeks. Efforts to revive the once strong Usenet presence failed.

Said the doctor as he exited, "she was good while she lasted, but was taken down by a disease for which there is no cure. Wingnut-itis. Once someone is infected with that delusional illness, recovery is rare."

Rest in peace, old gal, Rest in peace.

It's you frigging liberal hacks who killed it. One you had
your propaganda debunked and your methods illuminated you lost
any amount of credibility you once may have had. You liberals
just went WAY too far to the left. Nobody wants to hear or
see that crap.

You liberals seem to think dead means lack of conflict. Sorry
but lack of conflict is a good thing.

I was just enjoying weeks of peace and quiet on this group then some loud
mouth liberal comes in to complain about absolutely nothing - the absence of
anything! Next he will propose a fix for the solution, he's already
levelled the blame. Since he's of the school of jailing people who don't
agree with his environmental science acumen, I would wager that he would at
least prpose incarceration for those who don't agree with him on everything.
After all, the truth is his and his alone.

Oh, to have a bitcoin for all the times I've seen someone declare a
newsgroup dead!

That said, there are clearly some *brains* dead around here....

Apparently the alt.fifty-plus.friends body was resuscitated for a brief yell and belch.

Three weeks later, not a pip.

Gone, but not forgotten.

The people who kept this group going are now 50++

Those becoming 50+ are too young!

I don't like Facebook but I realise that it's everywhere these days.
Most personalised mobile phones have it installed. Texting will
destroy speech, some people already just grunt! Apparently Facebook is
even in some fridges.

Wow, that's wonderful. What a shame to be destroyed by idiocy that can't
count higher than two (i.e. political parties).
